"The Unshakable Conviction of the Power of the Gospel"

I want to thank the Lord and the body for praying for this short term missions trip. The doors are opening wide in East Africa, and in preparation to go after seminary, there is much building and preparation to account for before that set time. A team of 34, 35 including Mike from Juba (the man who survived the goring) - was blessed with the privilege to partake in kingdom building work in Uganda and Rwanda. Tonight will be our missions presentation, so come join us at New Creation Fellowship to hear what the Lord has done, and the challenges ahead.

Thank you all for praying, and each time I step into Africa, my heart continues to grow bigger for the land, and the future of this continent, which is so strategic for the fulfillment of the Gospel being preached to 'All the Nations'. One testimony of a brother - who was captured by Islamic militants, held captive for ten days - was rescued by Special Forces of a country before he was to be executed. This brother was bringing muslims to Christ, and was marked for death by the radicals in the area of the country he was attempting to build and underground ministry. His name is marked for death in that country. The stories and testimonies of brothers and sisters remind us of the power the Lord has given us to witness, and lay down our lives for.

All that we do is to serve the Lord and prepare His bride to witness to the world - so confused and lost - with the many idols, and distractions from the very thing that would bring peace and joy to the soul - the saving work of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Question:

If you were being deceived, would you know you were being deceived?

How would you know?

Would the world around you affirm that you are being deceived/lied too?

How would you feel if you were being lied too?

 

Statement

People believed the world was square, and if they sailed out, people would fall off the world - and cease to be.

People believed the earth was the center of the universe, and anything contrary to that was wrong.

People in this age believe in 'themselves' and create a smorgasbord of 'spirituality' that 'feels good' and satisfies 'me living for today and only for me'.

People believe that the answer to life's question is to look within and find the answer.

Conclusion

The answer is not in us, or me, but in God - and only by believing in Jesus do we have life.

The life is ebbing away - the consumer/materialistic/self exalting culture and new 'spiritutality' leads to the path of living for this life - but this life ends - and everyones ending is at different times.

Believing in Jesus, being transformed into Christ, being filled with the Holy Spirit to live is the only answer to death, sin, and the natural progression of man apart from God. - There is no hope in the world, the hope is in Christ.

      JOHN LENNON:
 Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:  "Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, Today we are more famous than Him" (1966). Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

      TANCREDO NEVES (President of Brazil):

his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the
votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he
died.

 cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: "God,that's
 for you."  He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.

     THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC:
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the
Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it."
The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

      MARILYN MONROE:
 She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He
said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what
the Preacher had to say, she said: "I don't need your Jesus".  A week
later, she was found dead in her apartment.

      BON SCOTT:
 The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang: "Don't stop me, I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell".  On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

     CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005
In Campinas, Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a
friend.  The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the
 drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter - holding her
hand, who was already seated in the car: "MY DAUGHTER, GO WITH GOD AND
MAY HE PROTECT YOU."   She responded: "ONLY IF HE (GOD) TRAVELS IN THE
 TRUNK, CAUSE INSIDE HERE IT'S ALREADY FULL."   Hours later, news came by that
they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car
could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact. The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact.  To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none were broken.

      CHRISTINE HEWITT:
 A Jamaican Journalist and entertainer, said the Bible (Word of God)
was the worst book ever written, in June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.  Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many havedied, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.
   JESUS!!!

Been reading through Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel and started on Hosea this week.

There is a difference between personal time with the Lord and Bible Study - Personal time with the Lord is edifying and building, and clarifies the relationship and plans for the day. Bible Study is focused in reading a passage and observing to see the message(s) God is communicating through the Scripture.

Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel were commanded by God to be prophets, and what they saw as God's deliverance, and the Word of the Lord being presented to them to proclaim was rock solid. When Jeremiah speaks with God, he speaks honestly, earnestly, and yet God commands Jeremiah to stand up and proclaim the Word to the people. The Word was of judgment, of the coming times, of disaster, of sin, of life, and of God's faithfulness, but nevertheless, he proclaimed the Word - obeyed - and was shown as the representative of God he was called to be.

From the destruction of Jerusalem, mothers eating their children under the siege under the king Zedekiah, when Jerusalem fell and was taken into captivity, Nebuchadnezzar heard of the message proclaimed through this prophet and offered him homage, a place in Babylon, and as a faithful servant of God, he stayed with the people, the remnant in the land.

Ezekiel amongst the exiled Jews, had prophesied, even when he lost his wife, and the life God set him apart for.

Daniel, and the three stood apart, and obeyed God. Reading and reflecting through this Scripture reminds me how it may be lonely going down the road, but it is not alone, and God is faithful. Even in the midst of all that is going on in the world, not putting a blind eye to the evil of men, but paying attention to the stage that God has set and the performance that we, God's people, must carry out.

The Word of the Lord is to be our strength, and it is not only a blessing for strength, but wisdom from God of His Revelation to us, and only through Jesus work- not only as redeeemer - but obeying wholeheartedly - the promise stands for all people's as we go as ambassadors and remain in the vine!

 De Colores!!!

The Lord places people in my life to pray for, both in the church and in my immediate family, as well as the brothers and sisters in Africa. It is amazing how each person has a face and represents an eternity that Jesus came to save and redeem.

 

However contrary the world system is based on - Jesus said, anyone that does the will of my Father is my mother brother and sister. The family I am a part of is God's church, which surpasses the limitation of blood relations. These are a few lives along with the church family I pray for - and even before I finish seminary and head out to Sudan and Congo - my prayer is the members of the family would be strong Christians and never compromise the faith.

Light of Love Africa is from August 12-25th. Pray for the Gospel to strengthen the Kenyan pastors and local churches. Pray for faith to to grow through all the lives that participate and mainly that Christ may impact all of Africa. Grace is dynamic, and does not return empty handed as the Word portrudes from the mouth of God. 

We came back from LOL#20 with a confirmation of the power of God, and LOL#21 is to be set tentatively for Jan 6-9th or 13-16th. Let's continue to walk with the Lord and be faithful to His leading daily!

The invitation is open for Light of Love #20, and the Lord's work is evident:)

01/10/08--12:04: Joy, life and having a heart healed to worship God (chan 2169047)

Light of Love 21 was a blessed time and the improvements are felt over time. My prayer is for my two sisters - Yon Su and Young Su - and my brother in law to join us for LOL 22. There are no set amount of eprops that can be given to honor God for the love he demonstrated on Calvary. God is faithful to His Word - and the power that extends across our lives to the point of when the strength and vigor of men fail and extend to eternity.

I am thankful for the ministry, NCF and God working in the family, workplace and ministry. I pray that I would learn to develop a deeper appreciation and love for God and all people. May my life be poured out and used for His Glory.

This year is a momentous year and I feel it in my bones. Alot of grace and love - and my heart can love - which I thought had been lost years ago. 

Missions to Kenya - March 17-29 - LOLA5  and a prayer for change in the Kenyan church.

May 15 - June 3rd Mission to Cambodia - Lord move the hearts of the seminary class to be missional - not just locally but globally as well.

June 8-11 Projected LOL 22

August last two weeks LOLA 6 and 7 - 

     It is not the work - but the relationship.

     It is not the past memories but the present life in God's hands.

     It is not about me - but God using trash that he redeemed to breath hope and life to restore the relationship with God in Jesus Christ. 

     It is not about being busy and doing - it is about obedience and submission to God through the Holy Scriptures - and growing in maturity - so the manifestation of Christ qualties would be seen as the fruit that is coupled together with the peace of God - obedience is then coupled with action - and we know God's heart.

It is not about static of liturgies that are traditions - but the dynamic way Jesus did ministry on the fly throughout the day and breaking the walls, speaking truth, performing miracles, namely the restoration of lives with God.

It is not selling out to the culture of debauchery but rather going against it that we know we are made of incorruptible and undefilable substance in Christ.

It is not the world - it is Christ that saves and we are at war - Church of all nations of all tribes of all generations must fight the enemy with the weapons God provided through the Scripture.

It is not knowlege - it is the power of the Gospel transforming lives and Christ indwelling to fight the good fight.

It is not empty words - but life well lived for we all will stand before God and give an account beyond the constraints and parameters of existential thought.

Lord increase our faith evermore and draw near to you in living.
